Public Wood-fired Suppers: Celebration of the Sea

These 3 hour wood-fired dinners are designed for folks who enjoy rustic comfort food and want to watch Jillyanna prepare delicious wood-fired dishes in the wood-fired oven, smoker, and grill. These dinners do not include recipes, but guests are welcome to help prepare dressings and sauces and ask questions. These classes are weather dependent. If pouring rain prevents us from holding classes, we will either reschedule or refund tickets.

In Celebration of the Sea Menu

  • Lobster Gazpacho
  • Zucchini Gruyere Pan Pizza
  • Wood-fried Whole Branzino with Lemon and Olive Oil
  • Grilled Shrimp and Vegetable Kabobs
  • Couscous with Moroccan Spices
  • Greek Salad with Imported Feta, Local Cucumbers, Tomatoes, and Dill
  • Flourless Chocolate Cake

Class Details

Duration: 3 Hours

Class Size: Class is limited to 8 people to allow for plenty of personal attention and practice time. Class requires a minimum of 6 people in order to run.

Location: Classes take place outside on our beautiful patio by our wood-fired oven and inside our test kitchen.

Meet Jillyanna

Jillyanna (Jill Strauss) has worked in professional restaurant kitchens throughout New England and has studied Italian cooking with famous cookbook author Giuliano Hazan in Verona and fourth-generation pizzaiolo Enzo Coccia in Naples. In 2012, Jill renovated her own private kitchen and picturesque patio to create an elegant indoor and outdoor classroom where she can share her Italian-inspired recipes and woodfired cooking techniques with students from all over the world.

Located in picturesque Cape Porpoise, Maine

Jillyanna’s facility includes three ovens: a Mugnaini woodfired oven, a Miele electric oven and a Viking gas oven. Classes take place inside the teaching kitchen and outside of the kitchen on a bluestone patio. There are several spacious marble, granite and cherry wood work stations as well as plenty of stools and chairs. Classes take place rain or shine.
